Love Hurts!
For FHE we were supposed to make videos for our ward closing social. Each group was given a genre and then we were all supposed to use a Band-Aid and the phrase "what does that even mean?" We were assigned to do a silent film. My roommate had a fun time editing it. Here is what we came up with. (You will need a bit of time and a fast connection.)

Loving the Park
We have had a few warm days splattered in here and there between the rain and snow. We have taken advantage of those by going on walks or bike rides to the park. I put Ellie on the baby slide to start and she loved it so much I decided to try her over on the bigger slide. I love how she wiggles to get her self started.
A Day at the Gardens
Brielle and I went with some friends to Grand Rapids to visit the "largest temporary butterfly exhibit in the US" at the Meijer Gardens.
I have to admit, I was so busy watching the baby birds, I didn't actually take many pictures of the butterflies. But they were beautiful! Ellie loved watching them fly around her.

The giant Leonardo Davinci Horse
Ellie says "yes, I'm having fun...can't you tell?"
Mere Christianity

Book Group was at my house last night, so I actually went this time! Luckily Ellie was exhausted from a fun day at the Butterfly exhibit, so she went to bed early and I had time to get the house picked up and food ready before everyone got here. I tried out a new recipe which turned out to be pretty tasty Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chips. Yummy!
The book this month was Mere Christianity, by C.S. Lewis. This book is amazing and very uplifting, but is not a quick or easy read. It is a very philosophical book. For people like Ryan that may be very interesting, but for people like me...it just hurts my head.

Anxiously Engaged
Wow. So if you haven't heard yet, we am engaged. Anxiously. To be married. WOW.This picture is taken the day after the fact, on Easter Sunday. I know some of you haven't seen the ring yet, but it is there in the picture, on what appears to be my right hand. In all actual-factual reality, it is my left hand, where an engagement ring ought to be, but for some reason the picture got all turned around and things don't appear quite right.
But the things that are exactly as they appear is this: WE ARE VERY VERY VERY HAPPY!!! WAHOO!!!
